Save-A-PET, a non-profit organisation dedicated to animal rescue, is set to host the Rescue Dog Show and Market on Sunday, September 29 at the Save-a-Pet Shelter.
This event aims to raise awareness about the intelligence, beauty, and uniqueness of rescue dogs, regardless of their breed, age, or appearance.
Zane Brown, a representative from Save-a-Pet, shared the inspiration behind the event, “The Rescue Dog Show and Market was inspired by our desire to raise awareness about the intelligence, beauty, and uniqueness of rescue dogs, regardless of their breed, age, or appearance. By creating this fun and engaging event, we aim to show that rescue dogs can also be stars—capable of doing tricks, looking adorable, and being the perfect companions.
“This event also gives Save-a-Pet an opportunity to share our mission and cause with the public while celebrating the wonderful rescue animals we care for.”
This year, Save-a-Pet has undergone a significant rebranding to better reflect its values and commitment to animal rescue.
The rebranding includes an updated logo, website, and overall identity, aimed at attracting more adopters, volunteers, and donors.
“Our goal with the rebranding is to attract more adopters, volunteers, and donors to support our mission in saving and rehoming animals.”
Over the past 20 years, Save-a-Pet has evolved from a small rescue organisation based in the founder’s home to a well-established NPO with significant community support.
The organisation has made numerous improvements to its shelter, focused on the mental well-being of its rescues, and built important relationships.
Attendees of the Rescue Dog Show and Market can look forward to a vibrant, family-friendly day filled with over 30 stalls, delicious food from local food trucks, a beer garden, a pet care expo, and a craft market.
The highlight of the day will be the Rescue Dog Show, where adopted dogs and Save-a-Pet residents will showcase their talents in various fun categories.
“Expect a vibrant and family-friendly day filled with over 30 stalls, delicious food from local food trucks, a beer garden, a pet care expo, and a craft market.”
The community’s support has been crucial to Save-a-Pet’s success over the years. Through donations, volunteer work, and participation in events, the community has provided the resources needed to care for animals in need.
“Looking ahead, we plan to continue placing value in learning, to continuously improve the lives of animals in our shelter and beyond.
“We are also hoping to expand our education programme to nurture the human-animal bond in our communities. Further efforts will be made to find suitable, loving homes for all our rescues,” Brown concluded.
