The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Gqeberha is seeking the community’s assistance in tracing an 11-year-old boy who went missing on Saturday, June 28.
According to SAPS spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that on the aforementioned date during the day, Jaquin Assam (11) from Vastrap, Booysens Park, Bethelsdorp asked his guardian for permission to go to Central to visit his mother. She did not allow him to go, but later during the day he left his house.
“Jaquin informed his guardian that he was going to play with his friends. He never returned home and efforts to locate him proved unsuccessful,” she said.
Janse Van Rensburg added, “He was reported missing at SAPS Bethelsdorp on Friday, July 4.”
Police are appealing to anyone who can assist in locating Jaquin Assam to urgently contact Warrant Officer Simphiwe Siyolo on 079 896 7335/041 401 3000, or alternatively Crime Stop at 08600 10111, or their nearest police station.
