SAPS officer hijacked in Kwazakele: Public help needed to find vehicle, suspects

SAPS Kwazakele opened a case of hijacking after a police officer reported that he was hijacked on Thursday, July 11, on his arrival at home in Kwazakele.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 18:25, a detective attached to SAPS Walmer arrived home with a SAPS vehicle on Ngwendu Street, Kwazakele. 

She said the member was inside his yard when he was getting out of his vehicle and was confronted by five suspects of which two were armed with firearms.

“They searched the member and took his car keys, cell phone, official firearm, and other properties.

“The suspects fled the scene in the white Toyota Hilux, SAPS vehicle).

The investigation is ongoing.
