THE Mount Road Women’s Network showed their support for people with disabilities last week on national Casual Day.

The horses from the Mounted Unit and dogs from the K9 unit accompanied their human colleagues to spend time with the disabled children at the Sinako Special Needs Centre.

According to SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, their equine and K9 buddies stole the show with their elegant struts and super mutt displays.

“Morgan, the police dog, paraded in her superwoman outfit, much to the delight of the children.

“Generous sponsorship of doughnuts from the business sector lit up the faces of these children. Each child was also presented with a goodie bag, courtesy of the Women’s Network.

“The horses and dogs made the children forget their impediments for a few hours,” Naidu said.

Naidu added that the Women’s Network members left the care centre with a sense of exhilaration and joy, knowing that they have helped make a difference.
