SAFA Eastern Cape has appealed to its regions to appoint their compliance officers, in order to adhere to the COVID-19 regulations.
According to SAFA Eastern Cape executive officer, Isaac Klaas, they are appealing to their regions to urgently appoint regional compliance officers (RCOs), LFA compliance officers (LCOs) and Regional League team compliance officers, for both male and female teams.
Klaas revealed that they were preparing for the competitions that would resume shortly.
Klaas said that SAFA medical officer, Dr Thulani Ngwenya, had scheduled virtual training sessions for the compliance officers, which was why the information was needed urgently.
Klaas also alerted the regions to be aware of the fact that the promotional play-offs, which were postponed in December 2020, would resume in Mthatha from February 26-28, with SAFA OR Tambo being hosts of the programme. SAFA appealed to the regions to verify their team lists for the play-offs, as soon as possible.
“The COVID-19 plan that was submitted to all the regions will strictly be applied.
“Furthermore, no supporters are allowed to the watch the games but invited individuals will be allowed to the games.
“The security staff have a list of invited people. All in all, I appeal to the team supporters to bear with us at this difficult time,” said Klaas.
