FANS were treated to football of a high standard when Really Crusaders shared a 1–1 draw with their neighbours, Umanyano Stars, during their Zwide Football Association (ZWIFA) Swartkops Sea Salt Premier League clash at Shining Stars Grounds on Sunday.

Following their 2–1 loss to Kuyasa United Brothers at Zwide Stadium on Saturday, Saders played out of their skin against Stars, who also played their socks off. As was expected, neither side dictated the tempo in the beginning stages of the game.

Neither wanted to disappoint their supporters, and exercised high levels of discipline as they did not commit needless mistakes.

Crusaders’ long-awaited goal came courtesy of Thando Nodada in the 50th minute, after his side was awarded a free kick. Stars were like a house on fire as they searched for their equaliser. Their hard-work paid dividends as Crusaders conceded a corner kick.

Lwazi Msizi netted Stars’ equaliser in the 54th minute from the corner kick.

Strikers United had the better of Zwide Pirates as they beat them 5–3, while the beleaguered Sophakama FC suffered embarrassment in their 8–1 defeat to Kuyasa United Brothers. Log-leaders Shining Stars accumulated a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Major Chiefs at Zwide Stadium on Sunday.
