S4 Integration is delighted to announce the success of its first-ever Charity Golf Day, held on Thursday, September 19, at the Port Elizabeth Golf Club. The event raised an impressive R260,000 in support of the Gelvandale High School Hostel and the Gelvandale Rugby Academy, shining a spotlight on two essential community initiatives.

According to a statement by S4 Integration, S4 Integration, in collaboration with DG Capital and Community Chest of the Eastern Cape, hosted the charity event as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering growth in the industry, the region, and local communities.

The statement said all proceeds from the day will benefit the Gelvandale Rugby Academy and the Gelvandale High School Hostel, situated in Helenvale, Northern Areas of Gqeberha.

“The Gelvandale High School Hostel is home to over 100 teenagers from rural areas outside Gqeberha, offering them the opportunity to access education by attending Gelvandale High School. Following S4’s visit to the hostel in 2023, the company made it the focus of its Annual Charity Drive, with plans to continue supporting this essential institution in the new year.

“S4 has supported The Gelvandale Rugby Academy, the second beneficiary of the Golf Day, since 2020. The Academy has played a significant role in helping young athletes in Gelvandale and surrounding areas pursue their sporting dreams,” the statement read.

According to the statement, over 100 players have earned scholarships to top schools and rugby teams, both locally and internationally.

“Notably, academy players have gone on to join teams such as the Leopards, Blue Bulls, Lions, Sharks, and Eastern Province Rugby. Some senior players have secured international contracts in Germany, Scotland, and Spain. The S4 Charity Golf Day drew support from industry leaders such as Standard Bank, Rubicon, Festo, and Sick Automation, with all sponsorships and participation slots selling out,” the statement added.

S4’s Marketing Manager, Gideon Smith, said they are beyond grateful for the incredible support S4 has received from their partners, sponsors, and all the players who made the day such a success.

“This was our first-ever golf day, and we couldn’t be happier with the turnout. The R260,000 raised will make a real difference in the lives of many young people,” Smith added.

To ensure that the funds raised from the Golf Day have an impact on the lives of many, S4 is collaborating with Community Chest of the Eastern Cape.

CEO of Community Chest of the Eastern Cape, Selwyn Willis, said: “We are proud to be associated with S4 and for sharing the stage to make a difference in our community. Our common vision of caring, to improve the lives of the learners and bring about meaningful change, speaks to one of the seven core values we hold as Community Chest of the Eastern Cape, which includes equity, passion, accountability, ethical standards, social justice, and innovation.

“Plans are already underway for next year’s S4 Charity Golf Day, which promises to build on this year’s achievements,” Willis concluded.
