In the latest episode of Crown Chasers, the behind-the-scenes Miss South Africa series airing on S3, Mpumalanga’s Reinette Potgieter was the first of the Top 16 contestants to be voted out. Despite her early departure, the competition remains fierce, with Noline Spinks from Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, still in the running.
The series, which offers a unique glimpse into the preparations and challenges faced by the contestants, began with a celebration of South African heritage. The contestants were tested on their teamwork through a cooking task and their energy in a dance challenge, where they brought their “MoFaya” to the floor.
The episode featured resident judges Leandie du Randt and Lerato Kganyago, along with BET award-winning singer Makhadzi, who evaluated the contestants’ performances.
While Potgieter, a 26-year-old teacher, expressed sadness over her early exit, she remains proud of her achievements and the personal growth she experienced during her time in the competition. She highlighted the transformative nature of the Miss South Africa platform, which not only celebrates women’s empowerment but also encourages personal development and resilience.
As the competition progresses, all eyes are on Noline Spinks, who continues to compete with grace and determination.
The upcoming episodes promise more challenges and opportunities for the contestants to showcase their unique qualities and strengths.
The next episode of Crown Chasers will air on Saturday, July 13, at 20h30 on S3, with a repeat on Sunday, July 14, at 13h00. The series will continue to highlight the journey of the remaining contestants as they strive to embody the values of beauty, strength, and empowerment that Miss South Africa champions.
The ultimate winner of Miss South Africa 2024 will be crowned at Sun International’s flagship venue, the SunBet Arena at Time Square, Pretoria, on Saturday, August 10.
