TWO weeks – seven adrenaline-packed events.
Top-class surfing, hardcore trail runs, high-octane action, a gruelling mountain bike ride and prime entertainment are all on the cards for one of the biggest winter festivals in the country – the 2018 JBay Winterfest.
The popular festival, which started on Monday and runs until July 17, has a red-hot line-up of events, which include the Championship Tour surfing – The Corona Open JBay.
The Corona Open JBay is the only World Surf League Championship Tour event in the country.
The surfers took to the waves at Supertubes on Monday and a champion should be crowned by July 16.
This year will also see the women return for their championship tour event at Jeffreys Bay for the first time since 2000.
Apart from the adrenaline-filled surfing competition, sport enthusiasts can look forward to a festival line-up that caters for young and old. Other happenings at the JBay Winterfest 2018 include the Cold Water Swim Classic, the Skins Fishing Competition, the Funduro, JBay Windfarm MTB Classic and Endurade JBay X Trail Run.
Desmond and the Tutus, Shadowclub and aKing are some of the top acts scheduled for the Corona Sunset Sessions.
