SAFA Eastern Cape has taken the decision to postpone the ABC Motsepe League provincial promotional play-offs, which were going to be played in Mthatha on December 5 and 6, due to the high rise in number of coronavirus infections in the province.

SAFA EC provincial executive officer, Isaac Klaas, stated that the provincial play-offs were postponed until further notice, as the coronavirus infections in the area were rising.

Klaas said, “Due to the rising numbers of coronavirus infections, we have unanimously taken a decision to postpone the provincial play-offs that were scheduled to take on Saturday, December 5, and on Sunday, December 6.

“The date for the promotional play-offs to take will be made known when the right time comes.”

The teams which were going to take part were FC Siyanda from SAFA Alfred Nzo, Musketeers FC from SAFA Amathole, Tede FC United from SAFA Buffalo City, Bay Stars FC representing Madibaz Football from SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay, Amampondo United FC from SAFA OR Tambo and Manchester United from Sarah Baartman.

The side representing SAFA Joe Gqabi has not yet been confirmed.
