Erich Human broke his own dead-lift record by 7kg, lifting 250kg in the Junior u/93kg.

NUMEROUS records were set during the Eastern Cape Powerlifting Championships, which were held on May 14, at Cape Recife School in Gqeberha.

The results were as follows:

.Heike Groenewald broke the Eastern Cape squat record with 127.5kg and the Eastern Cape bench press record with 65kg in the Sub-Junior u/69kg division.

.Anika Maree broke the EC squat record with 120kg, the Eastern Cape bench press record with 55kg, and the Eastern Cape dead-lift record with 125kg, in the Sub-Junior u/76kg division.

The two have been selected for the Eastern Cape team to participate in the SA Equipped Championships that will be held in Gauteng on August 6.

Results for the Women’s Classic Powerlifting Competition:

.Nicole Loubser in the Sub-Junior u/52kg division broke the squat record with 80kg. She is training to compete at the World Sub-Junior Championships in August this year in Turkey.

.Stephené Loubser broke the Eastern Cape squat record in the u/76kg division with 97.5kg.

Results for the Men’s Classic Powerlifting Competition:

.Justin Chan in the Junior u/66kg broke the squat record with 147.5kg.

Scott Pornss in the Junior u/83kg broke the squat record with 195kg and dead-lift record of 255kg.

.Erich Human in the Junior u/93kg broke his own dead-lift record with 7kg to 250kg.
