SAPS Walmer detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying and tracing the next of kin of a partially decomposed body that was found in bushes in Victoria Drive on 7 April 2023.
According to Colonel Priscilla Naidu, police spokesperson, it is alleged that at about 14:00 on the mentioned date, hikers were walking on a trail when they got a strong stench emanating from nearby bushes.
“They looked around and found the body of an African male lying on his back. The body was already decomposing. He is believed to be between 30 and 40 years old and was clad in a yellow/beige tracksuit pants, black long sleeve top and black takkies,” Naidu said.
Police are awaiting the results of the postmortem report to determine the exact cause of death.
