Gqeberha police are seeking the next of kin after an unknown man passed away in a collision earlier today, February 14, in the Bethelsdorp area.

According to police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 11:20, an Isuzu truck was traveling on Stanford Road from Bethelsdorp towards Gelvandale in the vicinity of Van Der Kemps Kloof. A second vehicle, a white Honda, was also traveling in the Stanford Road direction towards Bethelsdorp.

“It is unclear what exactly happened, but the truck and the vehicle collided head-on.

“The driver of the Honda was alone in the vehicle.

“He died on the scene,” she reported.

She further added that the deceased is unknown, light in complexion, and was wearing a pink Uzzi shirt, blue boxer shorts with black Adidas tracksuit pants, and black Adidas tekkies.

“A culpable homicide case was opened for further investigation.”

Police are urging anyone with information that could help with the identity of the deceased to contact D/Col Dawie Scholtz at 082 319 8673, or alternatively Crime Stop at 08600 10111, or the nearest police station.

“Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via the MySAPS App.

“All information is confidential, and callers may remain anonymous.”
