Police seek help to identify deceased man found with hands, feet tied in North End Lake

SAPS Mount Road is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying an unknown deceased male, aged between 30 and 35, whose body was found early today, February 6, at the North End Lake with his hands and feet tied.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, at approximately 06:24, SAPS Mount Road responded to a complaint at the North End Lake in Milner Avenue, Sydenham.

She stated that upon arrival, they were informed by a resident near the lake that a vagrant had approached her and informed her of a body floating in the water.

“SAPS divers were called to assist with the recovery of the body.

“At this stage, no further information is available. The deceased was dressed in black tracksuit pants and a faded black shirt, and he has a circle beard.

“The hands and feet of the deceased were tied, and a case of murder was opened for further investigation,” she reported.
