Gelvandale detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying a person whose charred body was found on Friday, 11 February.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu, police spokesperson, said at about 17:20, two boys who were in the bushes between the Oceanview and Openview areas near Malabar stumbled on the burning body of an unknown adult man.
“When police arrived, the bush was still smouldering. At this stage, the circumstances surrounding the incident is unknown and police have opened an inquest pending further investigation. The race and age of the person is unknown due to his body being completely burned,” Naidu said.
