SAPS Kabega Park detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin of a man whose body was found on 3 October 2023 on the N2, Fitchard Corner area.

According to SAPS spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that on the above-mentioned date at approximately 19:30, SAPS Kabega Park attended to a complaint of a motor vehicle accident.

“The unknown pedestrian was hit by an unknown vehicle whilst crossing the N2 and it did not stop. The pedestrian had no identification on him and the detectives were unsuccessful in tracing the family of the deceased.”

Janse Van Rensburg added, “The deceased is an African male who was dressed in black trousers, black jacket, black and white socks and brown shoes. Enquiries were made in the vicinity but no one was able to assist with his identity.”

A culpable homicide case was opened and is under investigation. Anyone who can assist with the identity of the deceased is asked to contact SAPS Kabega Park, Detective Sergeant Deidre Harker on 063 157 2964, Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station or send information via MySAPS App.
