Detectives at SAPS Bethelsdorp are seeking the
community’s assistance in tracing the suspect(s) involved in a
fatal shooting resulting in the deaths of two people in Polar Park in Booysens
Park yesterday morning, July 7.

According to police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, at approximately 08:00 on the morning of the incident, a concerned resident noticed that the front door of his
neighbour’s house in Kenty Street was wide open and became suspicious. He
then summoned the ex-girlfriend of the deceased and together with a
community leader, they entered the house. The body of Zola Ndayi (48) was found
lying on the floor.
 

“Immediately, they went to SAPS Chatty and
reported the incident. When police arrived, they found the body of Apiwe
Mdunjeni (17) lying on the bed. Both deceased sustained multiple gunshot
wounds. They were related to each other and lived in the same house,” Naidu said.
 

Police are investigating two cases of murder. The
motive and suspect(s) are unknown at this stage.
