Gelvandale detectives are seeking the community’s assistance
in locating a mobile bank card swiping machine that was stolen during a
housebreaking incident at a food outlet in Cleary Park on June 16, 2021.
According to police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, the
place was securely locked up the day before. The following day, the manager was
contacted and informed of the break-in.
“No entry was made into the shop. The machine similar to
the picture attached, was taken through the security bars,” she said.
Police are urging anyone who can assist in tracing this
machine or know of anyone who may be illegally in possession of one, to
contact D/W/O Ranshaw Bagley at the Gelvandale police station on 041 4017007.
“Police are also appealing to second-hand dealers to
contact them immediately should anyone attempt to sell such an item to
them. The community is also warned that buying or receiving stolen property is
an offence and if caught they will be arrested and charged,” Naidu added.
