Police confirm identity of missing woman found in old Coega road, Ayanda Dupa-Emenaha

Police have confirmed the body of missing and murdered woman found burnt in the bushes on the old Coega Road, on July 25 was Ayanda Dupa-Emenaha (35), after her identity was verified through fingerprints .

As previously reportedaccording to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu,  it is alleged that on July 23, Dupa-Emenaha, left her work at 17:30 and dropped off her colleague in Rink Street.

Naidu said Dupa-Emenaha indicated to her friend that she was going to Westborne Road before going home, however, she never made it home.

The following day, July 24, her Toyota Etios was found abandoned on the old Coega Road at 00:45. 

A missing person report was opened at SAPS Humewood on July 24.

On July 25, with the assistance of the K9 Search and Rescue Unit, a body was found in bushes on the old Coega road about 30 metres  from where her vehicle was found, but it was yet to be established if the body was that of  Dupa-Emenaha. 

Naidu confirmed on August 10 that the body of missing and murdered woman was that of Dupa-Emenaha

“Her identity was verified through fingerprints,” said Naidu.

“A case of murder is under investigation.”
