RAYMOND Mhlaba Sports Centre netball courts were surrounded by spectators on Saturday, when Motherwell Netball Association (MOTENA) hosted their play-offs in preparation for the Youth Day Tournament that will take place in Kariega.
In the u/16 Group A play-offs, Polar Park registered a huge 6–1 victory over NU 12 Netball Club. BIMSA rubbed salt into the wounds of NU 12 Netball Club handing them a 14–0 defeat. BIMSA continued with their dominance by thrashing Polar Park 7–1 in a one-sided match.
In the u/16 Group B play-offs, Dominators earned a hard-fought 6–5 win over Volcano. Dominators defeated Mighty Jaguars 6–1 in their easy contest. Volcano redeemed themselves with a well-deserved 11–2 win over Mighty Jaguars.
Sakhingomso Sports Club silenced the supporters of Volcano with a narrow 5–4 triumph. Despite their 4–3 defeat, Sakhingomso Sports Club played their hearts out against the gutsy Dominators.
In the u/19 play-offs, Flying Eagles succumbed 9–5 to Young Stars. Dominators could not display dominance, losing 6–1 to Flying Eagles. High-flying Young Stars dictated terms in their well-deserved 16–4 victory over the lacklustre Dominators.
In the seniors, Flying Eagles and BIMSA are in first and second place of the points table, respectively.
