The PJ Twins, who are singers, songwriters and producers, rose to fame in 2012, when they were the runners-up on SA’s Got Talent.

Their talent was further showcased in 2013, when they were invited to perform alongside SA’s most talented musicians at the RMB Starlight Classics, on the Great Lawns at Vergelegen Wine Estate, in Somerset West.

The year 2019 proved to be another explosive year for the PJ Twins, when they once again delivered mind-blowing performances and were placed in the top five of The Voice SA.

The PJ Twins have since been embracing every opportunity to collaborate with artists across South Africa.

The single, titled “Steke Leke”, is a collaboration between the PJ Twins and Afro Jazz band, Fusion Rhythm Band.

Despite the brothers’ music genre mainly focusing on house, some of their favourite genres are Afro beats and Afro jazz, which added to the success of the collaboration.

Steke Leke is an upbeat track with a pulsing beat and catchy hook. The inspiration behind it was to create an exciting feel-good Afro beat flavour that everyone can enjoy, dance and party to,” said Peter.

He further said, to complement the song, they wanted a fun and catchy name and while brain storming ideas, they decided on Steke Leke.

“Steke Leke” will be the twins’ third single. Their first single, “Rewind”, was released in January this year, while their second single, “Believe”, was released last month, which was a collaboration with twin brothers Shad and Jade Isaacs, better known as Twinzspin.

“Steke Leke” will be available on various music streaming services such as YouTube, Deezer, Spotify, iTunes and Amazon.

Peter said they have received a great amount of support from their community and are hopeful that their fan base in Port Elizabeth will increase soon.

He said like all budding musicians they would really like to create and share music that makes the world happy.

“We love singing and entertaining which is what makes us happy and we hope to become successful recording artists.”
