ATHLETES, teachers and a handful of parents gathered at the Nelson Mandela Bay Education District mini-hall in Sidwell recently when PE Primary Schools Country honoured outstanding athletes during its year-end awards function.
The guest speaker, Deidre Warne, told the athletes that their excellent performance on and off the cross-country course had paid off.
Warne explained, “Your threshold of greatness has pushed your bodies to the limit. Your resilience and zeal have paid off for you. You made sacrifices for yourselves, your school, and your family. Your parents, teachers, school, and the region are proud of you.”
