Police have confirmed that one of the deceased found at the shooting scene in Central was an off-duty constable stationed at Algoa SAPS. The victims have been identified as two women, Lisakhanya Labi (21) and Monalisa Ojani (20), and male police constable Godfrey Tholane Seleke (31).
It is alleged that Seleke shot and killed the two females and thereafter shot himself.
Reporting on the incident, police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said on July 18, 2025, SAPS Humewood responded to a complaint at approximately 09:30 in Gordon Terrace Street, Central.
She said that, on arrival, the police officers assessing the scene found the bodies of the two women with gunshot wounds and Seleke with a gunshot wound.
“At this stage, the circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear and the investigation is ongoing,” she explained.
