Nolene Spinks has become the latest contestant to be voted out of Crown Chasers, the behind-the-scenes Miss South Africa television series broadcast on S3.

In Saturday’s episode, the Chasers’ business acumen and potential to be brand ambassadors was put to the test when they had to prove their ability to style a versatile wardrobe for a day in the life of a Miss South Africa. The main challenge raised the bar when the contestants found themselves creating, designing and developing a capsule collection and business strategy for Forever New.

At the end of the show, Spinks was eliminated.

Says the 23-year-old Spinks, who hails from Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape: “The Miss South Africa journey was tough, but so worth it! It placed me into positions where I quickly had to adapt and grow as a person. I am leaving a stronger version of myself, having learned how to navigate hard situations and the skills to reach my full potential in life.

Crown Chasers was an amazing experience. Besides being extremely tired, you are tested, and your limits pushed daily. You are forced to grow within a short amount of time and to deal with your innermost emotions. It is an experience that cannot be understood until you have personally experienced it.”

Mia le Roux was announced as the winner of the episode.

Resident judges Leandie du Randt and Lerato Kganyago were joined by celebrity judge, entrepreneur, budding property mogul and creative designer and owner of Dream Fashion, Londeka Buthelezi-Ndaba.

What were the best/hardest parts of your Miss South Africa journey?

The best thing about Crown Chasers was the personal growth that took place. I am now equipped with the necessary skills to conduct myself as a serious individual who has the potential to make an impact in the field of my choice. The hardest part was the fatigue. Pushing yourself to perform even when you are dead tired, is one of the hardest things I have ever done.

Would you do it all over again?

If God wants, I will definitely enter again in the future, but not with the intention of correcting what I did in 2024. I have no regrets about my journey. Everything I did and said is a representation of who I am and what makes me who I am. If I had to do it all over again, I would do it the same way.

Tell us about the challenges in the episode in which you were voted out?

Actually, my last episode was the most fun that I experienced throughout the entire chase. I particularly enjoyed the designing of our Forever New line and loved dressing the mannequins. I don’t think I was voted out because I did something wrong. Ultimately there is only one winner and that is what we signed up for.

What is your message to the remaining Miss South Africa contestants?

Remember Esther – you were born for such a time as this.

What’s next for you?

I am now planning my wedding, starting the business plan for my school of the arts and pursuing my career in the Afrikaans music industry.

Do you have a message for all those who have supported you?

Thank you for standing by me and believing in me. Know that your voice is heard, even if I didn’t get the time to respond to your comments: you kept me going. I might not be in the chase for the crown anymore, but I will continue to pursue my dreams and I will reach them.

In the penultimate episode of Crown Chasers will be broadcast on S3 on Saturday, July 27 at 20:30, the remaining contestants test their resilience, endurance, and mental strength in a celebration of health and wellness. It’s teamwork and fun in a fast-paced episode that has the Chasers racing to the finale…who will make it to the finish line and who will run out of time when the chase comes to a surprising end?

The Miss South Africa 2024 winner and ultimate Crown Chaser will be crowned at Sun International’s SunBet Arena at Time Square, Pretoria on Saturday, August 10. VIP and general access tickets are on sale at Ticketpro, the Miss South Africa website and the Miss South Africa app.
