‘No request for ransom has been made yet’: Hawks comment on Sidwell abduction

Provincial Hawks spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, confirmed that the Hawks will be taking over the murder and abduction investigation of the man who was abducted and his son (33) who was fatally shot in Hart Street, Sidwell, Gqeberha yesterday, October 3.

As previously reported by the PE Express, police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu said, the incident happened at approximately 13:30, yesterday afternoon, October 3. 

She said that police are on the lookout for a white Toyota Corolla vehicle, that had six men inside of it.

Mgolodela said that the murder of the 33-year-old man has been confirmed, but that it has not been confirmed that the man who is suspected to be the deceased’s father has been kidnapped. Instead, they are referring to it as an abduction.  

No request for ransom has been made yet, so we cannot confirm that it is a kidnapping.

The Hawks have not released the names of the father and son.
