SAPS Mount Road detectives are investigating a culpable homicide case after a 25-year-old man died in a motor vehicle accident on the N2, Cotswold on Monday, October 2.

Captain Hazel Mqala said the man and his passenger were robbed of their cell phones and were driven off in the bakkie by the suspects.

Reports further exposed that the team searched the said vehicle where 75 000 tablets of mandrax were discovered inside the car and those mandrax tablets were seized.

A 54-year-old male will appear in the East London magistrate court on Monday, October 2 2023 following the alleged rape of a 16-year-old teenager during the early hours of Sunday, October 1 in Mzamomhle informal settlement in Gonubie, East London.
