THE long-awaited clash between Shining Stars and Shooting Stars and Zwide Football Association (ZWIFA) Swartkops, arrived when Shining Stars defeated the Sea Salt Premier League log leaders Shooting Stars 1-0 at Zwide Stadium on Sunday.
The clash was described as the most attractive game of the season. Initially, it was not yet clear who was going to win the game as both sides gave a good account of themselves. Shining Stars came to the field with the objective of upsetting the log leaders. Shooting Stars also came to the game to claim the victory but it was not going to be. The first half ended, with the two sides break-deadlocking on the goalless draw.
The two sides kept on searching for an opening even in the second half. Shooting Stars squandered their glorious goal-scoring opportunities.
Siyanda Ndyawe did not hesitate to convert Shining Stars’ clear-cut chance as he banged the goal into the back of net late in the second half.
It was a great moment for Ndyawe as he guided his side to beat the log leaders during their toughest game of the season.
