GQEBERHA – The fifth round of the 2026 Motorsport South Africa National Motocross Championship will take place at Rover Raceway, Victoria Drive, Gqeberha, on Saturday, 18 July 2026, with official practice taking place on Friday, 17 July.
As one of the most anticipated events on the national calendar, Round 5 promises thrilling action as riders continue their quest for championship glory.
With valuable championship points up for grabs, competitors will be pushing hard from the moment the gates drop in Heat 1.
The Eastern Cape continues to produce some of South Africa’s finest motocross talent and local riders will be eager to defend home-ground pride against the country’s top competitors.

Rover Raceway is renowned as South Africa’s premier sand motocross circuit, making it one of the most physically demanding and exciting tracks on the national championship calendar.
The unique conditions will test riders’ endurance, skill and determination, creating spectacular racing throughout the day.
Riders to watch:
• 50cc Class: Nate Small, Mylan Barnes and Ryhder Reehse
• 65cc Class: Trey Dean, Riley Geldenhuys and Richard Smith
• 85cc Class: Aiden Retief and Lourens Erasmus
• 125cc Class: Triston Durow, Trent Valsecchi and Cameron Stuckie
• Ladies’ Class: Genevie Edwards
• MX3 Vets: Morne Janse van Rensburg and Brandon Wheeler
• MX2 Class: Cameron Durow, Luke Grundy and Trey Cox
• MX1 Class: Maddy Malan, Johan Vogelesang and Cameron Durow
• Senior Support Class: Craig Kruger and Daniel Forbes
Spectators can expect a full day of high-octane entertainment as South Africa’s best riders battle it out on the challenging sand circuit. Racing gets underway at 10:00, with riders taking to the track from early morning.
The event offers something for the whole family, including food stalls, a beer garden, a jumping castle, face painting, a VIP area, live music and, of course, some of the country’s finest motocross racing.
Admission is R100 per person, while children under 12 enter free of charge. Tickets will be available at the gate on race day.
