THE oldest active music club in the country, Four Winds Music Club, in collaboration with Ellies Electronics, will host the Ellies Electronics Mannville Music Festival at Mannville Theatre in St George’s Park April 28.
The club, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, was founded in 1969 to create a platform for musicians, whether they are young, old, experienced or new to the stage, to perform in front of an attentive and appreciative audience.
The music festival will provide one such platform for a total of 18 artists throughout the day. They include national solo artists, Rowan Stuart from Durban and Steve Fataar from Cape Town, while the other 16 are some of the most talented local artists, such as Kevin Abraham, Black Velvet, Rob Thompson, Ed Allen and White Noise, and The Mad Hatters.
Patrons are invited to bring along a blanket and picnic basket and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Refreshments and other items will be sold. Tickets at R100 per person will be available at the door. The gates will open at 12:00 and the music will start at 13:00. For more info contact fourwindspe@gmail.com.
