The motorcycle of the man who died on the N2 just outside Gqeberha today after colliding with a truck. Police are seeking assistance with identifying the motorcyclist.

The Police in Gqeberha is seeking assistance with the identification of a motorcyclist who died today (December 19) after colliding with a truck on the N2 near Bluewater Bay, outside Gqeberha.

According to Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, the police members who attended to the accident were informed that the motorcyclist, who was riding a motorbike Bajaj GT125, allegedly overtook a truck on the yellow lines where he nearly collided with a pedestrian who was walking on the side of the road.  “As the driver of the motorcycle swerved out for the pedestrian he was thrown from the motorcycle and the truck collided with the biker.  He died on the scene,” said Janse van Rensburg.   

The accident happened at about 12:00 on the N2 in Bluewater Bay, in the direction of Motherwell.

The SAPS Swartkops detectives are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
