THE Motherwell School of Excellence (MSE) is working very hard in preparation for the start of the SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay Regional League, which came to a halt, due to the coronavirus outbreak, in March 2020.

According to MSE chairperson, Vuyisile Dyakalashe, his side commenced with training on February 15. Dyakalashe revealed that the training sessions were well attended.

Dyakalashe said that the good news was that more new players had joined his side. He reported that some of the existing players had not joined their teammates during the training sessions, due to their personal commitments.

Dyakalashe said, “Our players show keen interest as they attend the training sessions in large numbers. That, on its own, shows that our boys will do better in the league.

“Our coach, Thandiswa Mboniswa, cooperates well with the players. She has not yet experienced disciplinary problems from the players. What I have taken notice of, is that the players are hungry for the games.

“The players had been inactive for a long time. Although they appear to be rusty, they are gradually improving day-by-day.”

Dyakalashe highlighted that the new players were also determined, dedicated and disciplined. He said that his new players fitted in to the team well and looked as though they had been playing for his side for a long time.

As things stand, Dyakalashe said his side would be a force to be reckoned with in the regional league.

“I am very happy that no members of our club or their families have been infected with COVID-19. It has been so unfortunate that COVID-19 has interrupted our league programme.

“I would like to say to our members that they should sanitise their hands or wash them with soap for 20 seconds, keep the 1,5m or 2m social distancing and wear their masks in the public places,” concluded Dyakalashe.
