MOTHERWELL School of Excellence (MSE) emerged victorious after earning a narrow 3–2 triumph over Tomorrow Stars during their Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Premier League fixture at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Sunday.

MSE mid-fielder, Mzukisi Mamana, scored his side’s opening goal in the 35th second. The first half score was 1–0 in favour of MSE.

Vusi Xego increased MSE’s lead to 2–0 after he sent a hotshot to beat Stars goalkeeper Lathitha Hermanus in the 56th minute. Sibabalwe Witbooi was instrumental for MSE in the mid-field, and he laid a perfect pass to their seasoned striker, Bulelani Maseti, who scored a goal that increased his side’s lead to 3–0 in the 65th minute of the match.

Stars came up strongly as Mahlubi Bontsa whipped in a cross, which MSE goalkeeper, Sive Gqukani, failed to deal with. As a result Nceba Sizani scored an easy goal in the 70th minute, decreasing the deficit to 3–1. MSE were under immense pressure, and Aqhama Sikani scored Stars’ second goal in the 74th minute.

The referee disallowed Sikani’s second goal after he was adjudged to have scored from an offside position in the 79th minute. Stars did not stop searching for an equaliser, but MSE defended in numbers.
