SAPS Algoa Park opened an inquest after a shack fire claimed the life of a 37-year-old man in Missionvale late on Saturday, October 7.
According to Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg of SAPS, it is alleged that at approximately 23:30, a shack was caught alight in Old Uitenhage Road, Missionvale. After the fire was extinguished by the fire department, the body of Nando Mapose was found.
“The cause of the fire is unknown, an inquest was opened at SAPS Algoa Park and will be investigated,” Van Rensburg concluded.
