The body of missing Motherwell woman, Pazama Maqolo, 66, was found in bushes in Fairview on Thursday, March 21.
She was reported missing on Wednesday, March 20, at the Motherwell police station.
She was last seen in church around 12:30 in Mbiza Street.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu, the South African Police Service spokesperson stated that at approximately 23:00 on the same day, her white Toyota Etios was found by her tracking company as well as the K9 members in Airport Valley.
“On Thursday, March 21 at about 08:45, her body was discovered in bushes in Oregon Street in Fairview.
“It is alleged that a construction worker on site used a shortcut through the bushes to get to a spaza shop when he stumbled on a body lying in the footpath. He informed his employer who alerted police,” said Naidu.
According to Col. Naidu, the deceased was confirmed to be Maqolo. She sustained a gunshot wound to her head.
The motive is unknown at this stage. Police are investigating a murder case.
