Mfesane Secondary edges out Soqhayisa Secondary in schools’ league

CROWDS watched a spectacular game when Mfesane Secondary edged out Soqhayisa Secondary School 2–0 during the Motherwell Schools Football Association (MOSFA) Kay Motsepe Schools League at Motherwell NU 9 Grounds, on Wednesday.

Fans were kept on their feet as both schools played quality football. The game was evenly balanced in the first half, with both school teams missing golden scoring opportunities. The two sides went to break in a deadlock.

Mfesane Secondary came up strongly, with their counterparts kept in their territory. Motherwell NU 12 school forced Soqhayisa Secondary defence to commit some needless mistakes.

Lisolomzi Rolani registered the first goal for Mfesane Secondary halfway through the second half. In the dying moments of the match, Mfesane Secondary increased their lead to 2–0, after Cebolenkosi Ndubela scored after a goalmouth scramble.

Mfesane Secondary right winger Asive Hewana had a storming game and was the man of the match. On the other side, Soqhayisa Secondary right half back, Liyema Yekiso, played his heart out. When the game ended, fans gave the two school teams a round of applause for their outstanding performance. In another game, Ndyebo Secondary had the better of James Jolobe Secondary following their easy 3–1 victory.
