THE Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has informed residents that its library service had reopened on Monday to continue receiving library materials.
Libraries will receive materials from 09:00 until 15:30 on Monday to Thursday and from 09:00 until 13:30 on Fridays. The Walmer Library will receive materials on alternate days every week; on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
On Mondays and Wednesdays, the Walmer library will open for receipt of library materials from 09:00 until 15:30; and 09:00 until 13:30 on Fridays.
The North End and Algoa Park libraries will both receive materials on weekdays from 08:30 to 12:30.
Materials will be accepted at the entrance of each library for quarantining. Library patrons will not be allowed inside the libraries.
They will be offered a “call and collect” service for materials they wish to borrow.
Municipal spokesperson, Mamela Ndamase, said, “Members of the public are advised that masks must be worn at all times and they will be required to have their temperatures taken and complete a contact tracing register.”
All libraries in the metro will be open for this service with the exceptions of Allanridge, Chatty, KwaMagxaki, and Motherwell Libraries, which remain closed due to vandalism.
Patrons are encouraged to use the NMBM online platform, Libby, or through the Overdrive website, www.nmbm.lib.overdrive.com to borrow library materials.
