With Matric Dances back in full swing after the Covid pandemic, so is the popular Express Matric Dance Competition.

This year it will be in aid of CANSA and all funds raised will go towards the work CANSA does in the Eastern Cape communities for cancer patients.

An exciting addition is that the finalists (boys and girls) will be able to show their beautiful matric dance outfits during the grand finale, which will be in the form of a fashion show and dinner where the 2023 PE Express and CANSA Mr and Miss Matric Dance winners will be chosen.

The fashion show will be held on 28 October in Gqeberha. Tickets will be available for friends and family to support the entrants. The winners’ photos will be published on the front page of PE Express.

The entry fee is R50 and must be paid directly to CANSA (please see details below).

All entrants will be featured on the PE Express Facebook page.

Entrants will be judged on their overall look – including the dress or suit, hair, make-up and accessories – so be sure to send a photo where the judges can clearly get the complete picture.

A panel of independent judges will choose the finalists once entries have closed on Tuesday, 17 October, at 12 noon.

The competition is not open for voting by the public.
