GQEBERHA – Another mass shooting has claimed three lives in Gqeberha after the bodies of three men were discovered inside a vehicle on the R75 in KwaDwesi on Saturday afternoon, prompting police to launch a manhunt for the killers.
According to SAPS spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge, it is alleged that on Saturday, 13 June, at around 16:15, police in KwaDwesi were summoned to a complaint of murder on the R75 near Chatty Dip.
“At the scene, police found a grey Toyota Starlet with three male victims,” he said. “The victims, aged between 27 and 36, sustained several gunshot wounds and were declared deceased at the scene.”
Beetge added that the identities of the victims are being withheld until formal identification processes are finalised. “The motive for the incident is unknown,” he said.
Police opened a case of murder (three counts), and Beetge further stated that the matter has been transferred to the Serious and Violent Crime Investigation (SVCI) Unit for further investigation.
