SAPS Walmer is investigating a case of house robbery and attempted murder after a man was shot during a home invasion that took place in the early hours of this morning, December 7, in Kamma Heights, Gqeberha.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 03:20, in Dolpour Street, Kamma Heights, suspects gained entrance to a house by removing an aluminum window.
She said that the two victims were sleeping in separate bedrooms when the woman woke up after her light was turned on in the room.
“The three suspects were inside the room and demanded her cell phones,” said Janse Van Rensburg.
She said that the suspects then went to the man’s bedroom and a gunshot was heard.
Janse Van Rensburg said that the suspects then fled.
“The man was shot and taken to hospital for further treatment,” said Janse Van Rensburg.
She said that the suspects fled with two cell phones and a Macbook laptop.
