Motorists on the N2 in Gqeberha received the shock of their lives yesterday, Tuesday, June 8, when the body of a man was found hanging from a foot bridge crossing this busy road.
The body of the man, dressed in a blue long-sleeved top and checkered pants, was clearly visible to everyone driving on the N2. He was hanging from the bridge crossing the N2 just past the off-ramp at Stanford Road towards Cotswold.
According to police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, various units responded to a complaint of a man that hung himself from this bridge at approximately 13:50 yesterday.
“At this stage, no foul play is suspected and the investigation is ongoing. Gelvandale Detectives opened an Inquest after they attended to the scene,” Janse van Rensburg said.
“The name of the deceased is unknown and police are trying to trace his next-of-kin,” she added.
