An 18-year-old man has drowned at the Gqeberha Golf Club whilst diving for golf balls in one of the ponds.
The victim has been identified as Kyran Ditlow.
Police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, said that just before 16:00 on Tuesday, November 1, Ditlow and two friends were swimming in the pond while at the same time looking for golf balls.
“The teenager drowned. An inquest has been opened,” Naidu said.
