It is the semi-final day in the Mzwandile Mali Schools
Rugby Tournament in the Wolfson Stadium on Friday afternoon.
The Fort Beaufort regional winner and last year’s
losing finalist, Thubalethu High, will play in the first match starting at
13:00.
Thubalethu takes on Molly Blackburn High (Kwanobuhle) for
a place in the final which will be decided on March 14, also in the Wolfson
Stadium.
Ndzondelelo High (Zwide) is the defending champion and
is up against Tyhilulwazi High in the second semi-final at 14:40.
A spot in the semi-final will already secure some of
the prize money for the qualifying teams. The overall winner will pocket
R50 000.
Ndzondelelo High has won the tournament four times in
a row, seven times overall, and is again the team to beat.
