Local couple celebrates 65 years

Willem and Elsie Plaatjies of Salsoneville celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday, May 2. The couple had six children, two of whom passed away in a car accident, and have five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The couple said that since day one, the Lord has been everything in their marriage. ‘Without Him, we would not have made it this far. Sixty-five years ago, we made a promise that we would be together until death do us part. It is truly a blessing, and our love is still flourishing.’ Photo: SUPPLIED
