Mzansi’s taste buds to be tantalised with a second serving of the KOO Colour Your Plate

Following the success of the first season of their reality show, Colour Your Plate, Mzansi’s number one canned food maker, KOO is back with their quest to unearth South Africa’s next cooking phenomenon. 

Viewers and food enthusiasts alike are in for a culinary treat like no other as world-renowned celebrity chef, Reuben Riffel and nutritionist Author Ramoroka return to their judging thrones as they journey to crown this year’s culinary superstar.

The show will re-introduce South Africans to the to the KOO Colour Your Plate campaign, which intends to educate the citizenry on ways to prepare well balanced meals using KOO products to promote healthier eating habits consisting of two fruits and three vegetable to their daily diets that will also appealing to the eye.

KOO Marketing Manager Neo Dikamotse said that they were excited to be back for another season of Colour Your Plate with KOO.

“Our first season was well-received as we were able to give food lovers the platform to express their love for food and showcase their creativity in the kitchen using staples, heritage products from KOO that we all grew up loving. Nutrition has always remained our primary currency as a brand and with this show, we are able to not only introduce the country to a bevy of untapped talented cooks, but we are also educating the nation on taking up healthier eating habits – especially coming out of a global pandemic where good health remains a key objective,” said Dikamotse.   

Tiger Brands’ Company Nutritionist Arthur Ramoroka  explained how eating a variety of fruit and vegetables daily helps one stay healthy, while reaping their nutrition and health benefits, “Colour is key to your health, as the colours of fruit and vegetables are often linked to the nutrients, vitamins and minerals they contain.” 

“My advice is always to try eat a combination colours throughout the day, such as peaches and apricots with your porridge at breakfast, red and green vegetables in a salad during lunch, and purple and orange vegetables alongside your starch and protein for dinner. Legumes, such as baked beans, are also packed with fibre, which is essential for digestive wellbeing and to keep you regular,” Ramoroka added.

Viewers are in for a visual treat as the show’s judges Reuben Riffel and Arthur Ramoroka will be joined weekly by celebrity guest judges who will help in selecting finalists nutritious in the pursuit to crown Mzansi’s next cooking star. Some of the celebrity guest judges set to make an appearance on the show include social media personality Lasizwe Dambuza, Radio and Television personality Pearl Modiadie, and renowned chef Lazy Makoti.
