The single mother Tracey Fourie, (62) who was allegedly kidnapped on 20 August, was safely reunited with her family after five days, as confirmed by the Hawks spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Avele Fumba.

He said, “The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, known as the Hawks, can confirm the safe release of a 62-year-old woman who was allegedly abducted on 20 August whilst driving home from work in Gqeberha.”
Fumba added that this outcome was achieved through the swift and coordinated efforts of a dedicated kidnapping task team, working closely with specialised SAPS units and private security partners. “The victim was medically examined and found to be in good health before being safely reunited with her family.”
From the very beginning, the Hawks-led team pursued every possible lead, working around the clock to secure the victim’s release.
“The operation also resulted in the arrest of three suspects allegedly linked to the kidnapping. The suspects are expected to appear in court tomorrow, 27 August.” He added, “For operational reasons, their identities will not be disclosed at this stage, and investigations remain ongoing.”
The Hawks urges anyone with further information regarding this case to come forward. ‘All information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,’ Fumba concluded.
