JEFFREYS BAY – Police have launched a murder and robbery investigation following a deadly armed attack at a Jeffreys Bay grocery store that claimed the life of the store manager on 1 February.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, two armed gunmen stormed a grocery store on Jacob Zuma Street in Tokyo Sexwale, Jeffreys Bay, at approximately 09:20 on 1 February, and held the security guard at gunpoint.
“The manager of the store was shot and the suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and cell phones,” said Nkohli.
He said that the identity of the deceased person is withheld until a formal identification process is concluded.
Nkohli said that police are following all leads, and are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the Jeffreys Bay SAPS Community Service number on 067 598 2013.
