JAZZ’AFRO Sundays at the PE Opera House, Barn Theatre, welcomes actor, singer, rapper and filmmaker, Phila Madlingozi, who will be opening the first cycle of 2019 on Sunday, February 3.
Phila, the son of legendary South African musician, Ringo Madlingozi, became nationally recognised after his leading role in the second season of the popular SABC1 drama series, Intersexions in 2013.
Phila, along with his siblings, was raised by his grandmother in Nelson Mandela Bay until his early teens when he moved to Johannesburg and lived with his dad.
His passion has always been in the film business, as he studied film and television production. However, his love for acting caught him when he landed the role on Intersexions.
Music also soon got in his blood and has never looked back since.
As a young, aspiring musician, he took the plunge and auditioned for the 11th season of Idols SA. Since then he has been performing throughout South Africa.
Admission fee for the concert is R70 per person and R50 for pensioners.

A cash bar will be available at the Ideas Corner (upper foyer) and the sweet counter (ground floor) and will be open an hour before the show begins and after the show.
