We caught up with Hyperice business developer, Deon van Wyk, who told us more about this exciting brand and their growth within a global market.
You have so cleverly created a brand that is unique in its offerings – where did the brand concept come from and how was it developed?
Hyperice is designed to help to relieve tension, unlock sore muscles, and prime your body and mind to be at their best, so you can always find the simple fun in doing what you love to do, more. Our mission is simple – to help everyone on earth move better, live better and be better. Whether you’re an elite athlete or an individual who simply loves being outdoors doing some recovery training, or simply taking your dog for a walk on the beach, our products can assist you unlock the best version of yourself and speed up your recovery process.
Your mission is to “help everyone on earth move better, live better and be better.” Why is this the number one focus?
Whether you’re a four-time Grand Slam champion, like Hyperice user, Naomi Osaka, or a novice beginner in your sport of choice, recovery and treating your body with respect is key to any form of athletics. We want people to train better, recover faster, exercise more and become the best physical version of themselves.
As a brand, you have partnered up with some of the world’s most recognisable leagues, teams and federations. How are you implementing this brand and product service in South Africa?
We’re proud to partner with some of the world’s most recognisable leagues, teams and federations who are also committed to driving the performance and wellness space forward. We have recently partnered with the Springboks, ensuring their recovery needs are well taken care of. If you want to be the best, you need to recover with the best!
As a brand, you push the boundaries of innovation to help better serve athletes everywhere. How have your products benefited these athletes when it comes to recovery?
Our products are not just once-off use kind of products, they are long-term investments. Some of the world’s most powerful and iconic athletes across sport have joined and invested in the mission of Hyperice because they believe in the product and its value.
The brand has become so evolved that the likes of Rory McIlroy, Daniel Ricciardo, Connor McDavid, Klay Thompson, Jayson Tatum and more, have recently joined the likes of Naomi Osaka, Erling Haaland, and Virat Kohli as Hyperice Athlete-Investors to Fuel Global Growth.
Why is it important for people to know that your products don’t only cater to sportsmen, but to any active individual?
Hyperice has applied its technology and know-how to industries such as fitness, e-sports, healthcare, massage, and workplace wellness on a global scale. We do not just cater for professional sportsmen, but also to any individual who could benefit from our recovery products. On some scale, every individual is active, and therefore, recovery and body-health are needed.
