WITH Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Welcome Home Tournament Cup group first round games nearing their end, some of the teams played their hearts out in order to book themselves berths in the second round of the tournament, in their matches played at the Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.
Highland Spurs, who were so desperate to book themselves a place in the last 16 group stage, managed to win their two games, destroying the gallant United FC 3-1 and then overcoming Future Stars 2-1.
Young Tigers, who were needing a win, shared a 1-1 draw with Real Aces in their enthralling contest. Then Tigers failed to qualified for the next round after they played into a goalless draw against Manchester United.
The knockout specialists, Valencia FC, edged out their neighbours, Showvillage United, 2-0 in a game that kept the fans on their feet.
Manchester United were held to another goalless draw by Young Killers.
