FOLLOWING their loss on penalties to Sibanye FC during the Nelson Mandela Bay Nedbank Cup eliminations, Highbury restored their dignity when they overpowered Swartkopsvalley United Brothers 3-1 in their ABC Motsepe League home clash at the NMU South Campus Fields on Friday evening.
Highbury FC showed last week that they are a side that is set to cause upsets this season.
Siyanda “Hulk” Skosana registered Highbury’s opening goal and sent their supporters into raptures.
Highbury increased their lead to 2-0 when Ayanda Rushford Koli scored a world-class goal. Luxolo Bibo Tobi came up with Highbury’s last goal to put his team 3-0 up in front.

In another game the newly promoted side, Amavarara, cemented their top position on the league table after they thrashed Bush Bucks 5-0 at their home ground, the Dumpy Adams Stadium in Komani.
The oldest team in the ABC Motsepe League, Matta Milan, salvaged a hard-fought 1-0 victory when they hosted Bizana Pondo Chiefs at Msobomvu Sports Fields in Idutywa.
The Guys FC succumbed 2-0 to Mthatha Bucks at Mqeshwa Sports Fields in Bizana, while Sibanye FC cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Birmingham City at Adcock Stadium in Korsten.
In the only drawn game, neither PE Stars FC nor Tornado FC could score a goal at Saints Grounds in Gelvandale.
